About
Founder Rachel Schemmerling has always understood the quiet power of home—how a space can hold memory, create a sense of steadiness, and shape the way we move through life. Raised in a 275-year-old Colonial in Madison, Connecticut, and shaped early on by work at the historic Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire, Rachel developed a deep appreciation for the connection between people, place, and time.
That love of timeless interiors first became her business, Timeless Interiors—a design studio rooted in classic beauty, layered styling, and unique details. But over time, something deeper began to emerge. As Rachel walked through seasons of personal loss, reinvention, and life with a chronic autoimmune diagnosis, she realized the true purpose of design wasn’t simply to create something beautiful. It was to create something supportive. Something that helped you breathe again.
And so Timeless Living was born—an evolution from a traditional interior design brand into a wellness design consulting agency and lifestyle brand devoted to helping women align their homes with the way they want to live. Through lifestyle guidance, thoughtful education, and design insight, Timeless Living supports women navigating meaningful life transitions—loss, change, illness, and reinvention—by transforming their spaces into sources of calm, clarity, and steadiness.
Timeless Living is more than a design philosophy—it’s a way of being. It’s the belief that your home should reflect your values, support your nervous system, and gently guide you into your next chapter. It means choosing what is lasting over what is trendy. Creating space to live with intention. Surrounding yourself with what feels grounding, meaningful, and true.
At the heart of this work is The Sanctuary Shift™, a signature course experience that blends thoughtful interior design with wellness-centered guidance. This is not design for appearance alone. Using natural materials, calming palettes, stress-reducing elements, and timeless, layered styling, we create interiors that feel grounding, healthy, and deeply personal—spaces that support where you are now and gently hold the woman you are becoming. Whether you’re reimagining a family home, downsizing into something new, or creating a restorative retreat, each sanctuary is designed to honor both your next chapter and the legacy you carry with you.
Today, Rachel brings this philosophy to life through Timeless Living, guiding women through grief, divorce, illness, empty-nest transitions, and quiet reinvention toward spaces that feel safe, nurturing, and aligned. Every detail is considered with care and intention—sustainable materials, soulful styling, and design choices that foster peace, belonging, and ease.
Beyond the home, Rachel also leads The Ginger Jar Society™, a community for women drawn to slow living, meaningful ritual, and connection. Through curated gatherings, retreats, and shared experiences, the Society offers a place to pause, reflect, and begin again—together.
At Timeless Living, we believe sanctuary is not a luxury. It’s a necessity. And when your space supports your well-being, you are free to heal, grow, and move into your next chapter with intention.
